The SAET Laboratory of Scuola Normale Superiore, the University of Naples “L’Orientale” and the Italian School of Archaeology at Athens have signed an agreemed aimed at carrying on epigraphic researches in the area of the ancient Gorthyna in Crete.
The scientific supervisors are prof Fabrizio Oppedisano (SNS) and prof Ignazio Tantillo (“L’Orientale”, Naples). The reasearch program aims at reconstructing the evolution of the public and private epigraphic landscape in Gortyna from the archaic to the bizantine age. Researches and studies will be carryied on at the seats of the Italian School of Archaeology at Athens, in Athens and Crete, at the warehouses in Agioi Deka (Gortyna) and in several museums.
